INDIA – Global data and measurement-driven media agency, Essence, has made a number of management appointments to bolster its services and presence in India.
Based in Bangalore, Bharati Joshi will lead the agency’s product offering as VP, Product, while Kunal Danda will lead the agency’s Mumbai office as VP, Client Services. Based in Delhi, Vinish Mathews (illustrated) will lead the agency’s partnership with key client Google as Vice President, Client Services, India and Southeast Asia. The three new hires will report to Sonali Malaviya, Managing Director, India, within the Essence leadership team.
Joshi brings with her over 17 years of industry experience from Initiative where she was Assistant Vice President, Strategy and Insights. Previously, she held leadership roles at GroupM’s Wavemaker and Maxus. In her roles, she has been instrumental in the development of agendas, frameworks, playbooks and tools, in areas related to data and measurement, integrated media planning and optimization, content marketing and creativity.
Danda has over two decades of media and marketing experience in India and the Middle East, working in agencies such as OMD, Edelman and Digitas, and organizations such as DBS Bank, Energy Central and Arab Insurance Group. Most recently, he was a senior partner at Mindshare in Mumbai, heading digital media, integrated marketing and business development.
With over 18 years of experience in China and India, Mathews joins from Mindshare, where he was most recently Managing Director, overseeing teams in Beijing and Shanghai. With a proven track record in leading customer relationships in industries such as e-commerce, fast-moving consumer goods, tourism and eye care, his capabilities in strategic brand management, investment planning in media and designing communications campaigns have helped brands build immersive relationships with consumers using media. For his work, he has won over 100 local and global awards with his teams, clients and partners.
